Indie-pop icon Kyla La Grange has returned with a bang after a five year hiatus, releasing a reimagined version of classic dance anthem “Set You Free”.
Starting off a new era for La Grange after an absence from releasing any new material since a string of singles in 2016, she has brought out a stunning reincarnation of the N-Trance classic anthem “Set You Free”.
With the 90’s rave anthem’s core elements remaining, La Grange adds in her unique and captivating style with a stripped back piano and steady building instrumentation blending perfectly with her powerful falsetto.
After half a decade away from the spotlight, Kyla La Grange is back with a new project for 2022 with “Set You Free” being the first material from this eagerly anticipated project. As one of La Grange’s favourite rave tunes of all time , she wanted to relive the elation and atmosphere of an Annie Mac Festival set which finished with the N-Trance anthem.
A theme of magic and hunger for escapism fuels the new material and project from La Grange and the feeling of never wanting to grow up which the nostalgic track reimagined encapsulates perfectly. On a knife edge the sadness of the track is brought in equal measure with the euphoric sensation felt by this club classic. Knowing that in that moment surrounded by wide-eyed and sweaty crowds all in love with those around them , your heart is beating as hard as ever but you know you cannot feel this sheer joy forever as the night must at some point come to an end.
Throughout the 2010’s, Kyla La Grange made waves across the music industry with the critically acclaimed album 'Ashes' in 2012 which was followed by the 'Cut Your Teeth' album in 2014. Labelled as one of the defining voices of her era , the singer-songwriter received adulation and new fans in the from of big players NME, The Line of Best Fit, The Guardian, The Independent and The Observer.
