Talented singer/songwriter, Fleurr, has added to her discography with a brand new single.
The track, titled ‘Angels’ explores themes of hope, faith, and worthiness and builds on the sound she has crafted with previous releases.
In the singer’s own words her latest track is: “About believing that there are better days ahead. It is about having faith that things may not be how we want them to be right now but they will get better and in that we are also worthy of those better days.”
Formally known as Angela Powis, Fleurr says she has loved music all her life but didn’t start writing until 2018. Her musical journey started with her writing poetry and songs, which were then performed by a number of session singers until she eventually developed her own singing voice in 2019.
In terms of influence, the Shropshire born singer mainly draws from her own experiences and emotions and isn’t sure where her music fits on the current landscape: “I have quite an eclectic taste in music from dark piano pieces to pop to rock.” She says: “So it has made it difficult for me to find my own unique sound but I think I'm on my way there now.”
The new track was recorded at her home and, according to the singer, the melody came from a Beatstars done by producer, Trunxs. The lyrics were then added to the melody and the track was then mastered by mixing engineer, Giancarlo Roberti, who has previously worked with the singer.
“I wrote this song in 5 minutes.” She says: “I found a melody to fit it the next day. I recorded it that week and whilst I was doing this I got constant chills and felt emotional. It was like it was meant to be. For me a very spiritual process.”
‘Angels’ is out now and can be streamed here.
