RICHARD ASHCROFT Is Set To Release ‘Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1’

Richard Ashcroft has announced 'Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1', an album of new acoustic versions of some of his most iconic songs. The album is released on October the 29th and you can listen to the new version of 'Bittersweet Symphony' here.

 

The acoustic album features twelve newly recorded  versions of his classic songs, including tracks from his time with The Verve and from his solo career.  The album available to pre-order here.

 

Amongst the twelve songs on 'Acoustic Hymns Vol.1' are re-workings of The Verve classics 'Lucky Man', 'Sonnet' and 'The Drugs Don't Work' and an incredible duet with Liam Gallagher on 'C'mon People (We're Making It Now)'. 

 

The album was produced by Richard Ashcroft and Chris Potter and features Ashcroft's regular live band . Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, Chuck Leavell played piano on the album and Wil Malone did the string arrangements. Roddy Bloomfield was responsible for the brass section and Steve Wyreman recorded additional acoustic guitar parts and backing vocal arrangements.

 

Next month Ashcroft plays two sell out shows at The London Palladium and a third also sold out show in November at The Royal Albert Hall, London. A huge show at The M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool takes place on October the 29th with tickets available here. 

 

The two time Ivor Novello winner has released five top five solo albums after his career with The Verve. The Verve of course were one of the biggest bands of the 90's, releasing one of he greatest albums of all time, 'Urban Hymns'.
