Indie/rock/post punk trio Social Haul shared a new track with us on the 21st, ‘The Ease’ – the follow up single from their first release ‘Wet Eyes’ in February. The band, led by Leigh Padley of TRAAMS also announced a self-titled debut LP expected for release June 11th along with details of their first UK headline tour in September.

The band was born when TRAAMS decided to take some time off following tours with Car Seat Headrest and IDLES. Padley, realising a break altogether wasn’t for him – took on the role of singer-songwriter for the first time, recruited childhood friend Daniel Daws on bass and Richard Trust on drums.

With just two singles, Social Haul have already racked up impressive reviews in DIY, Gigwise and The Independent along with radio play on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music.

The track is not dissimilar from ‘Wet Eyes’, both singles having the same noisy guitar riffs, punky outbursts and format. It’s clear the trio has found their direction already and with an experienced frontman, they sound as polished as a seasoned band.

Speaking on the release, Padley revealed: The Ease’ is a celebration of the determined ego. By utilising unwavering confidence, the protagonist simply belittles the obstacles in his way to diminish and overcome them; an ode to the only redeeming feature of arrogance. Fit for a knees-up, it’s about the part of ourselves we hate to love; bravado”. ****

‘The Ease’ along with ‘Wet Eyes’ is available on all streaming platforms now. Pre-order the self-titled debut LP here and purchase tickets for the band’s upcoming UK tour here.
