The Notorious MC DEVVO Urges England To 'Bring It Home' On New World Cup Song

The MC, rapper, songwriter and TV star MC Devvo has given us the World Cup song that nobody asked for - 'Bring It Home'. Featuring input from some guy called Brett Domino, who like Devvo's earlier sidekick Bezzin, seems to be attempting to ride the coattails of the Donny Soldier's success, this is a bold and heartfelt terrace anthem.

Devvo first rose to prominence a couple of decades ago with his Youtube videos and documentaries (some even appeared on BBC's late at night) which focused on his exploits as an unemployed and unemployable chav. The cult hero disappeared more or less for several years (possibly a stint in prison or an effort to avoid contact with his daughter, Sabina) not before recording and releasing his (s)hit album From Yorkshire To New York.

From Yorkshire To New York surprisingly spawned glimpses of genuine talent (surprising as Devvo is not renowned for his work ethic or intellect), with 'Donny Soldier' being a genuinely brilliant track and 'Boys On The Beach' and 'Nana' proving to be not as bad as you'd think.

Now, in 2026, and in the middle of a run of sold out live dates, Devvo is releasing 'Bring It Home', a bondafide World Cup anthem. The tongue in cheek, self-awareness of earlier work is prominent but the passage of time seems to have matured Devvo as a songwriter (or Brett Domino wrote all the lyrics and Devvo just sang them off a bit of paper). There are some clever rhymes here, it is full of humour and they serve up a double whammy - the pre-chorus is an absolute earworm but when that's through, they deliver the actual chorus, which like all good World Cup anthems, is an absolute monster.

World Cup songs are, for the most part, shite. There are four that stand out as being decent: New Order's World In Motion, Vindaloo by Fat Les and of course Three Lions - 'Bring It Home' sits nicely at the foot of that list as the fourth best England World Cup song in music history. Which isn't bad for a charver from Yorkshire.

About the track, Devvo says: "Working with me has been incredible for Brett. Football has brought us together and I'm teaching him a lot about the real world. We're looking forward to singing this in the stands with the fans because we genuinely believe that we can bring it home."

Brett Domino added: "I'm fairly sure Darren threw a wet teabag at me at the Headrow in Leeds in 2005. It's a real testament to the power of music and football that we were able to come together to write this song."

Brett Domino is the alter-ego of musical-comedian and actor, Rob Madin (JerkMan LikeMobeen). His viral videos have racked up over 30 million views across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube; and he is a regular guest on Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. 'Bring It Home' is out on streaming platforms on June the 12th.
