Singer-songwriter, Blake Baker, who debuted in late 2020 with his folky, acoustically driven sound has told of the continued development of his musicianship.

According to the Herefordshire-based singer, he has been particularly inspired by more modern talents such as Tom Misch, and has begun to experiment with the Neo-Soul associated with such artists to thematically develop his sound.

His debut single, ‘Tea for Two’, showcased echoes of Passenger, Ben Howard and Michael Kiwanuka; the bare guitar and exposed vocals on the track were as folky as they were comforting, and exhibited a seldom seen take on contemporary folk pop.

Early fans of the singer will surely be keen to see how Baker’s newfound inspiration will impact his future material. According to the singer, he is looking to introduce new themes and ideas into his own material going forward.

Though fans may have to wait a little while to hear his new material, it’ll likely be worth waiting for.
