We love discovering debut releases here at Our Sound Music, and none has captivated us more than the first release from Scottish singer-songwriter Brian Cattigan.
'Tell Me Something' features a rich and full acoustic guitar sound that may well become Cattigan's signature. The stripped back nature of the track creates a certain endearing vulnerability and it also allows the listen to be drawn into the lyrics.
Prior to Covid arriving in early 2020, Brian Cattigan had been honing his craft playing in bands and then more recently solo gigs performing covers. The lockdown provided him with the inclination to go out on his own with his original music, and this first release is a representation of that.
'Tell Me Something' was mentioned on Radio X's The Chris Moyles Show and from that, the track has managed to reach the top ten of the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart.
Cattigan is heading into the studio at the end of the month to record new material and we can't wait to hear the finished results. The talented songwriter is one to watch, and for us a shining example of a hidden talent that hasn't failed to impress.
