Both delighting and surprising fans, DMA’s have dropped a new EP," I Love You Unconditionally, Sure Am Going To Miss You” which sees the band return to their musical roots whilst blending with their mastered sound of today.

The EP created in Canberra is the product of recording demos during quarantine whilst preparing for the bands performance at the 2020 AFL Grand Final. Finding inspiration in the freedom without expectations and pressure, the songs were created organically yet with a strong focus and immaculate detail.

Dylan Adams (engineer for the band’s earliest releases , including Platinum hit single “Delete”) returned to the fold to bring about the solid working partnership and recreate the magic of earlier hits. Any fear of regression from returning to a previous producer can be instantly rebutted when you hear the tracks within the EP.

We are Midnight”, the single being launched alongside the EP highlights the band's solid songwriting abilities and shows how far DMA’s have come. Conveying DMA’s love for the British indie scene, the single with distorted layers of shoe gaze guitar combines with an instantly anthemic hook to capture and transport listeners to the feeling of hitting the open road.

1 Way”, the first track within the EP is louder than any other track that featured previously on “The Glow” and is a thicker and pacier tune. “Viol” meanwhile provides a more pop feel , written by Matt Mason on a Czech dobro. Pushing their solid and vivid story telling, “Junk Truck Head Fuck” combines a bittersweet vocal from lead singer Tommy O’Dell and see’s the band move into their first ballad featuring electric guitar.

The Title of the EP, “I Love You Unconditionally, Sure Am Going To Miss You” will seem familiar to the hardcore fans of DMA’s. Appearing in a blink-and-you-will-miss-it shot within the “Delete” music video, the words can be seen on a whiteboard message written by a friend of the band before she returned home from Australia.

After winning Album Of The Year, Best Dance Single and Rock Album Of The Year at the 2021 Australian Independent Record Awards,  “The Glow” , the third album from the DMA’s, set the band on the path to success. Now combining their past and present to produce the magic of their brand new EP “ I Love You….” along with the new single “ We Are Midnight” DMA’s are surely once again on course for more success.

Kicking off their long awaited return to the UK and Ireland, DMA’s rescheduled and extended tour over October and November will see the band perform in-front of a combined 65 000 strong audience with several dates already sold out.
