With the release of their new single “Cherry Red” and an upcoming EP set for release, five piece Gathering of Strangers have announced a UK tour.
“Cherry Red” narrates the story of the love/hate relationship we have with fear. The tale unravels the romantic power struggles a couple find them-self in when locked in a love-game that nobody wins. With the male character’s charm getting the female into the bedroom yet the female’s power chaining him to the bed, he is left to decide should he escape or not.
The track was penned in the beginning of 2020 and was recorded with David Watts at Chairworks Studios in West Yorkshire in September 2020. Watts produced the track with Dick Beetham providing the 360 Mastering. The song is filled with 80’s-esque synths, looping baselines and reverb-tinged guitars and takes listeners through the light and shade of musicality. The indie- rock anthem is sure to find itself stuck in your head after one listen.
Since forming in 2015, Tom Wingate(Guitar), Bruce Higgs (Bass), Conor Rabone (Vocals), Andre Ilkiw (Guitar) and Peter Crampsey (Drums) have become well established in the local scene selling out headline shows at Soup Kitchen, Night & Day , Yes and playing sets at Neighbourhood and Dot2Dot have resulted in festival goers clambering for more from the band. With a string of successful support shows with acts such as Electric Six, Third Blind Eye and Morcheeba and after working alongside industry recognised talent in the form of Cenzo Townshend (Decoy Studios), David Watts (Kaiserchiefs, Paul Heaton) , Frank Arkwright (Abbey Road) and Neal “x” Whitmore (Marc Almond/Sigue Sigue Sputnik) the band have now announced dates for their Gathering Of Strangers Tour.
