Vibrant Sunderland band Docksuns have this week released their first single of the new year ‘Real Thing.’ The radio friendly, fast-paced adventure builds on the success of last year’s acclaimed ‘Nile Street’ EP and typifies the Wearsiders energetic maquillage.
Built upon the message of ‘no regrets’, the track springs to life with a release of good vibes and fun. Though a big sound, perhaps the band’s most impressive too, it is easy on the ears and perfect for a mood booster.
Written by frontman James Baxter, he says about the release: “..the song re-lives a scene from a night out in Sunderland town centre. It is about going home alone or with someone who might give you that feeling of regret in more sober times. The overall message is live life with no regrets and sort it out in the morning.”
Docksuns formed in 2018 and have since shared the stage with Scouting For Girls, The Sherlocks and Shaun Ryder. They are scheduled to take part in this year’s Stockton Calling Festival and have played countless sold-out shows in their hometown.
With the dream of playing at Glastonbury Festival in Sunderland shirts, ‘Real Thing’ is a step in the right direction.
