Have You Met LYON TIDE? The Trio Release 'Blind' This Friday

Published on 15 February 2021 at 19:52

Lyon Tide are a Birmingham based alternative rock/pop trio who met at Art college. They quickly left to form a band and make music - Lyon Tide are Darren Barnard (Vocals/guitar), Anthony La Pusata (Keyboards/Lyricist) and Girish Patel (Drum & Bass).

Their debut single 'Closure' was released at the very beginning of the year and in a way served as a pre-cursor to their new single 'Blind' - the debut single explored the emotions and mindset of coming out of a long term relationship while 'Blind' is about the 'what if' and 'if only' thoughts and feelings that can occur when reflecting upon a past relationship.

'Blind' begins with a synth chord progression that grabs you immediately - it is classic 80's emotional synth pop. The deliver of Barnard's vocal is dry; there is a deadpan character there that adds to the authenticity of the song, not unlike fellow Brummie Lawrence of Felt and Denim fame.

The chorus is something special and as the band explains: "We feel that the  chorus line on ‘Blind’ is something that will get people  hooked and allow them to sing along."

We were hooked from the opening bar. An outstanding song, 'Blind' is a must listen and an emotional and wry take on indie synth pop.

With the release of their debut album, 'Beginnings Of Ends' on the horizon (the end of next month) now is the perfect time to discover Lyon Tide.
