London based, Italian born singer-songwriter Alice Pisano released a new pop ballad, ‘Seventeen’, on the 9th April. The single follows ‘Crush’, released earlier this year. Alice has captured the attention of radio stations: BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, Dutch Radio NPO Radio 2 and Spotify – with ‘Seventeen’ featured in three ‘New Music Friday’ lists (Italy, Greece and Israel) and ‘Crush’ in ten.

The new acoustic-led, emotive track is about first loves and the loss/heartbreak that comes along with them. Written by Alice and produced by Troy Miller (Emeli Sandé, Jamie Cullum), the single reminds me of early, ‘Fearless’ era Taylor Swift - simple, sweet and an aura of innocence. Pisano’s smooth, delicate vocals are complimented by the strings introduced on the chorus, making this track an easy but emotional listen (the perfect post-breakup cry).

Speaking on the single Alice said, “I wrote this song about my first love. I was staying at my parents’ house in lockdown, and being in my old room, rediscovering old photos and diaries, brought back lots of memories and forgotten feelings. I found myself reliving the power of that first love… maybe you can’t love anyone that deeply more than once.

Based on what we’ve heard already, I’m excited to hear the music Alice has in store for us this coming year. ‘Seventeen’ is available now on streaming platforms.
