Brighton-based solo artist, Beau Boulden, is due to release his new single tomorrow, Friday the 16th Of April.
The new track, titled ‘Unfold’, is the his first release of 2021 and follows on from the two singles he released last year.
He was quick to make an impression back in 2019, when he debuted, and his first single was picked for BBC Introducing’s Track of the Day. Since then he has continued to build his profile and attracted further attention from the likes of ANR factory and Essentially Pop.
Beau has not let Lockdown hold his creation back either, and he has used the extra time on his hands to discover new ways of being creative. The artwork of his new track, for example, gives his visual portrayal of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), which he personally suffers from.
The new track builds on the sound he’s developed with his previous releases and showcases a sound that is best described as alternative pop; it features Tame Impala-inspired electronic instrumentation that gives the sonic composition track a soft, almost psychedelic nature. Beau’s vocal is the focus of the song, though, as it guides the soft tones and gives the song a sincere feeling.
According to the singer the new track “is a song about the process of trying to accept a feeling you cannot seem to change. Sometimes it seems like the right way to be feeling, but you know, deep down, it will never end up being good for you.”
