With a handful of shows lined up before the end of the summer, Lyena aim to make up for lost time from the last year with plans of increasing their fanbase and playing more shows across the UK and Europe, alongside new singles being released in Autumn.

Their first step towards a bright future, however, starts this week, with a new release (Kind of!). The post-punk trio have celebrated their third year together with the re-release of fan-favourite ‘Lucy’.

The feel-good indie inspired high tempo track boasts a blend of brit-pop inspired drums, a driven bassline and guitar sounds reminiscent of the 90's Seattle grunge scene with the track being pulled together by big catchy hooks and melody lines.

Although catchy and mesmerising on the surface, ‘Lucy’ hides a dark tale of discrimination and prejudice based on true events. It is these complexities of the song that makes it so irresistibly listenable. While many catchy songs follow that same old boring pathway of an overplayed love song, ‘Lucy’ chooses its own route, opting to carve out its own success with its own unique sound and meaning.

With the release of ‘Lucy’, Lyena continue to show off their new and improved polished sound as they continue to make waves in the London music scene.

'Lucy' is out now on all major streaming platforms.
