CAUSTIC WAVES' Debut Single "Regenerate" Is As Incisive As It Is Intense

Words: ROBIN MUMFORD

Caustic Waves’ debut single ‘Regenerate’ draws more comparisons to a bullet rather than a brand-new single. It is incisive, aggressive, and will not be stopped until something indestructible gets in its way. As soon as the first set of drums fly out of the barrel, the constant barrage of sounds that meet the listener's ears will only ever gather pace, until a feeling of sorrow washes over you when the rip roar roller coaster finally finishes.

A full-time Software Engineer by day, music producer by night (Once the kids are asleep, he insists), Neil Thomas is a creative soul with a lifelong passion for music, which has culminated in the foundation of his latest project called Caustic Waves.

Having built up experience of working in bands before, with Neil experimenting on either side of the musical spectrum, Caustic Waves approaches soundscapes that fall into the more hardcore side of things, but he still maintains a tinge of melody throughout.

Although ‘Regenerate’ is principally a high intensity listen, which considers themes of regret, self-improvement, and growth, the driven basses and raucous layers of adrenaline are met with undertones of harmony and built-up anger which are inevitably liberated in a velvety fashion, creating a sense of ambiguity at each passing second of the single.

This debut single is followed up by “Invisible Enemy” which is released this Friday, the 8th of April (and can be pre-saved here).  Music has always been a vital cog in the mindset of Neil, but now that he has the experience and talent to pull off something special, as shown through this release, it is time to translate his deepest desires and talents into unforgettable music that will last generations.
