It has been well over a year now since Pretty Mafia last released new music, but they return in 2022 with a brand-new, high-voltage EP that is set for premiere in the summer. The first of five tracks is their newly refined single ‘Slow Down’, which sees the band retrieve their love for creating dazzling music.

Based in Yorkshire, Pretty Mafia consists of frontman Charlie Williams, guitarist Joe Doody, bassist Tom Fry, and drummer Patrick Bourke. The four lads, who have only been pursuing music as more than just a hobby for a short time, have already gone from writing songs out of Charlie’s bedroom to releasing their first EP in 2020 titled ‘Something Sweeter’, which was met by international attention, handing them playtime on Dearne FM, Trax FM, and Indie Sounds Australia.

They followed up this promising start with the release of ‘Benny Blanco’ in May 2021 which was named our Single Of The Year last year, , but now closing in on a year since their last creation, the quartet sense a shift in momentum in the offing. They continue to perform across the North of England, like they have done from the start, but new soundscapes are the next step for Pretty Mafia.

Kickstarting their shift in momentum, ‘Slow Down’ shines a light on catchy hooks, thunderous drumming, and jangling guitars. In its simplest characterisation, Pretty Mafia’s newest single is everything an indie track should be. It’s light-hearted, easy going, groovy, and best of all, it’s tantalising.

‘Slow Down’ opens the lively lad’s accounts for 2022 with a compelling agenda in the indie music scene. Feet will stomp, heads will rock back and forth, and Pretty Mafia will continue to dazzle.
