It is almost a given by now that when KOMBAT release a new single it becomes our Single Of The Week. I Don’t Want To Know is a slight departure from their angst filled rock n roll and is a more laid back dreamy number that is essentially just a guitar and vocal. It has shades of Oasis at their most melodic and carefree (Underneath The Sky, Married With Children) and the more stripped back sound here really lets the incredible vocals from singer Anoush breathe. The string of incredible songs from KOMBAT has to end at some point surely. I can’t recommend this enough.

With the cancellation of pretty much every gig and festival in 2020, a lot of bands who would have put out new music and even albums have seen their development and progress put on hold. Fingers crossed that come early summer we will see the return of some kind of normality and the planned festival season goes off without a hitch and that our own all day gig in Hull on September the 26th goes off without a hitch (more info here). Below we take a look at some of the up and coming bands that are sure to be making waves in 2021.

New Glasgow band Audio Town have released their debut single Until The End. I think the last time I was this excited about a new band was when I discovered Kombat. The song defines the term indie anthem. It’s emotional, it’s epic, it's destined to be heard by tens of thousands of people standing in a field. If Audio Town can follow this up with something equally as good we have an incredible band on our hands. The production is a little less cooked than it should be though that adds to the charm of the song. It comes in at over six minutes and to be honest who cares, I could listen to this all day long. I just might. Stream our Single Of The Week now.
